This beautiful Glencoe home, built in the 1870’s, still had most of the original wood windows. But they had been covered with cheap aluminum triple track storms. The owners complained of cold drafts, and they also wanted an improved exterior appearance. They were interested in a solution which enhanced the historic look of the house, without creating more maintenance.
We built and installed our patent pending wood storm/screen units on the front, high-quality low-e aluminum storm/screen units on the sides and rear, and did weatherstripping and minor repairs on all the original wood windows. The result was a dramatically improved appearance and increased comfort.
